Public Report For Anambra Flood Intervention Project 2020.

Name Of Project: Anambra Flood Relief Intervention Project by ANAM Initiative (Anam Transformation Movement).

Date Of Tour: The Tour began in 2018 in Anambra West Local Government Area Of Anambra State. Interactions were made with the victims of the flood, which gave us first-hand information on the needs of affected communities, especially farmers and residents.

We interviewed little children, mothers, farmers, teachers and every available person ready to give us valuable information.

Date Of Need Assessment: The first needs assessment was done on the 28th of September 2018, and we found that amidst the numerous needs of the victims, getting them shelters was the most important because their homes had been destroyed by the flood.

And some IDP camps were visited for this cause, then a second needs assessment was done in 2019.

The people used the tents as a means to protect their personal belongings like clothes and food, they also used them to protect themselves from harsh weather conditions like cold or rain.

Some necessities like Vitamin C, Paracetamol, Sachet Water and some eatables were also provided for the victims.

INCIDENTAL HEALTH PROJECT: At Ebenebe IDP Camp there were many health challenged victims but, one was in a very serious condition hence, we swung into action with our First Aid Materials.
We met Mama Agnes Ogugua (The Beneficiary) in a very deplorable condition. The video of appeal was posted on our facebook page on November 5, 2020.

Mrs. Anwulika Winnie Jaredson funded the evacuation process and she was taken to Rex Universorium Hospital, Mmiata Anam with quick response from Rev. Sr. Dr Sapie Emeka.

Purchased sleeping Mattress for her as she had none. Other basic amenities she needed were provided. The hospital led by Dr. Emeka treated her well.
